“Browsing the internet, saw this apartment and fell in love!  We have not been disappointed.  What a wonderful, cosy, and fully equipped bolt hole it has been.  Thank you for making us feel so welcome.”

June 2022

“Had a super time here.  No 7 is very well equipped.”

June 2022

“Absolutely love the views from the apartment, beautiful sunsets.”

May 2022

“Fab few days here in this gem of a place! The weather was perfect enabling me to make maximum use of the super range of maps and walking guides. Everywhere has been so quiet and peaceful, hardly seen a soul. Highlights have been the loop around Loch Trool and the walk from Garlieston to Cruggleston Castle. The apartment is a lovely space to unwind at the end of the day, really well equipped. Batteries are most definitely recharged, thank you.”

“Really enjoyed our stay. Lovely flat, lovely views and sunset, walks and food at the Steampacket. Thank you.”

March 2022

“Another fabulous week in your lovely apartment, our third time here and certainly not disappointed. Spotless, warm and cosy. The weather hasn’t been so kind this time so a great place to chill out and ignore the wind and rain. Managed some lovely walks once again and even took the opportunity to visit the distillery. Great food at the Steampacket and a lovely view from the community tearoom. Thanks again, we will be back.”

November 2021

“FANTASTIC! Lovely walks, superb accommodation, lovely and warm and cosy to come back to. Steampacket Inn food sensational. Couldn’t improve on anything.”

October 2021

“Thank You, such a wonderful place to stay! Lots of lovely walks and beaches to explore. Great apartment excellent.”

October 2021

“Thank you, Alison, Dave and Bob for the welcome pack, it was very much appreciated. We visited Glentrool twice and it’s a brilliant day out. The wild life was extra good this visit – dolphin, deer, seals, raven, peregrine and a host of seabirds. Everything was above standard and you always add a personal touch to your professionalism and it’s a treat to come here. We’ve booked for 2022 and 2023 and can’t wait.”

September 2021.

“What a great apartment, a real home from home. We really appreciated the extra touches, welcome card, goodies and milk. We have had a relaxing holiday and have loved being so close to the sea. The weather has been kind to us, one of the days was recorded as the hottest September day in Scotland since 1907. Thanks Alison, Dave and Bob for making number 7 such a welcoming place.”

September 2021.

“What a wonderful time we’ve had at the Isle of Whithorn. Ninians Landing was the perfect base for exploring Galloway. We’ve loved watching the activity at the harbour and sampling the local fish and seafood at the Steam Packet Inn.”

August 2021.

“Even wet days cannot damp the charm of the Isle. Another lovely calming week in this flat that provides all practical needs beautifully presented. Thanks again.”

August 2021.

“Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely apartment, we enjoyed every minute. Ted says thanks for his treats. Had lovely days out and finally saw red squirrels. A view to die for, don’t want to go home. Thank you once again.”

August 2021.

“What a fantastic 10 days, it was even better than expected. Enjoyed my/our rest. Great views and all amenities in the apartment and the weather was a bonus. Heidi enjoyed her window seat and the lovely walks. Back next year.”

July 2021.

“Thank you for another lovely week here on the isle of Whithorn. Rusty says thank you as well for her treats. We’ve actually seen belted Galloway cows this time, never seen them before. Thank you for all you’ve done to make it all safe/clean for us.”

“Thank you for another enjoyable stay in your lovely apartment and especially for the goodies you left for us – extra walking was required not that it was a problem with so many great places to visit.  The apartment is spotless and very reassuringly COVID safe.  We are already talking of when we will be able to return to do the things still on our “to do” list and the Isle has such a relaxing friendly atmosphere.
Thank you once again and a big woof from Ellie who also enjoyed her goodies.”

‘What a lovely, bright apartment to spend a relaxing week with the dogs. Felt like a real holiday atmosphere with groups sitting out at the next door pub.  Spotlessly clean, and very friendly locals.  In addition to walks in the local area, highlights of our week were trips to Portpatrick, Kircudbright and walk through Wood of Cree.’

June 2021.

“Spotlessly clean on arrival. Had a lovely time walking the coast, visiting the old towns (the guide books and maps were very helpful) or just sat in the apartment looking out to the harbour. This part of the world I will remember for a long time.”

June 2021

“We had 4 nights of rest and peace. Lovely outlook, immaculately clean, modern and well equipped.

Our puppy loves the complimentary Wagg treats! Could not recommend highly enough.”

May 2021

“We have just returned from a stay at 7 Ninian’s Landing and cannot recommend it highly enough. Covid restrictions were observed.

There were new appliances like kettle and toaster and a liberal number of hand sanitisers dotted around the apartment.

The apartment itself was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The whole area is beautiful and if you like your seaside a bit wild you cannot stay in a better place. The photo is the sun rising over the shore which can be seen from the bedroom window.”

April 2021

“Great apartment for exploring the region. It had everything we needed, very comfortable. We were very lucky with the weather too!”

October 2020.

“Had a fantastic few days here in the Isle of Whithorn. A chance to blow off the cobwebs in these strange times of restrictions. The apartment is superb, well equipped and a lot of thought put into what people want from their holiday accommodation. It has been a peaceful and relaxing experience. Felt safe due to adherence of Covid-19 regulations. The apartment is spotless. Home from home! Thank you Alison for suggestions of where to visit and to eat. Nero loved his early morning walk near Ninian’s chapel. It’s good to watch the sunrise if you’re up early. I don’t think he wants to go home and we don’t but would love to return sometime.”

October 2020.

“We had a great week exploring the coastline and the forest north of Newton Stewart. Just what was needed to de-stress. Lovely apartment with everything you could want.”

October 2020.

“Lovely weeks stay at the flat, the weather was very kind. Flat very cosy and comfortable with amazing views over the harbour. Very much enjoyed our bottle of fizz that was left for us in the fridge to celebrate our anniversary. Visited lots of lovely places and beaches with the dogs who are now exhausted and want to go home for a rest.”

September 2020.

“A very clean, warm, comfy apartment close to easily accessible coastal walks. Loved my time here, may well be back. Thank you.”

December (Christmas) 2019

“A great second visit to this lovely apartment. Thank you Alison and Dave for the welcome goodies which were welcome. We’ve had brilliant sunny days for coastal walks plus one day of hail, rain and cold northerly winds making the warm apartment a good place to retreat to. The area is definitely the home of the wren with a number of them accompanying us on each walk. We managed St Ninians Cave despite the recent rock fall. All in all a great week and a lovely place to chill out.”

November 2019

“Had a fantastic time, the weather was actually quite nice for this time of year. The apartment has everything you need ‘home from home’. The views are fabulous. Thank you for the biscuits and Ellie says woof for hers too. Definitely will come again. Feel like our batteries have been recharged.”

October 2019

“Back again. Lovely apartment, beautiful setting, great views. Had a great week. Weather not as good as last June but it didn’t stop us from going out. Thank you for the welcome pack and especially the bottle of fizz. You remembered my birthday and wedding anniversary. Hope to be back.

PS: We really enjoyed watching all the birdlife both outside the bedroom window and in the harbour.”

September 2019

“Practically perfect in every way! A delightful apartment in a lovely place and just right for a few days of much needed R and R. Thank you for the welcome pack which was much appreciated and gave us a taste for the excellent beer.”

“Our second visit to No. 7 and it has been as relaxing as the first. Great location with great views and access to the surrounding countryside. The flat has been an excellent place to call home for a week. Thank you Alison, Dave and Bob for yet again another lovely welcome basket and we look forward to our next stay.”

“What a fantastic place to call home. We have had a very relaxing break away from it all! The apartment’s layout, furnishings and facilities made our stay even better as everything has been thought of. The welcome box and note were a lovely welcome touch also. Already looking forward to our next visit, next time for a longer period as we have just had such an amazing time here. Thank You for everything.”

March 2019.

“We’ve had a great week of wonderful weather with lots of sunshine and breeze. Great for walking. On arrival not only were we met with a super collection of goodies, thank you Alison and Dave but with an amazing sunset. The location of Ninian’s Landing is brilliant with stunning cliff and beach walks in both directions. We enjoyed the wild primroses and a few bluebells coming out in the spring weather. We walked to Burrow Head and beyond and found, with some searching, the devils archway. St Ninan’s Cave is a must and if you are visiting in the next week or so the walk through the woods will be great with all the wild garlic and bluebells. Other highlights – Wigtown, RSPB reserve, Cruggleton Castle from Garlieston and the beach at Monreith. The apartment is bright, cheerful and a great place to relax. Thank you for letting us stay, I’m sure we will be back.”

March 2019.

“Tina and I have looked forward to coming back to No. 7 all year. It was great to see when we arrived that none of its charm had disappeared since our first visit. The welcome pack and customer service Alison and Dave provide are second to none and get the holiday off to a great start. We have had a great 10 days just resting, exploring a bit more of the area and the Steam Packet. Thanks and all the very best for 2019.”

Christmas and New Year 2018.

“We’ve had an absolutely fabulous time on the Isle of Whithorn. The apartment is so impressive, well-appointed and cosy with attention to detail that made our stay perfect. We really appreciated the treat basket with human and doggie goodies, even milk in the fridge. We’ve visited some stunning forests and beautiful beaches. There is certainly lots to see and do. Great dog walking locally and further afield. With a dog friendly pub serving great food next door and a tearoom overlooking the harbour everything is on your doorstep. We can’t wait to return again next year as there’s so much we haven’t seen yet.”

November 2018.

“What a fantastic apartment, everything has been considered. It’s all the little touches that make the difference. It’s beautifully finished and clean and having private parking is always great. Pet friendly apartments this well done are not always easy to come by.”

October 2018.

“What an ideal bolthole this is! No O2 phone signal is bliss. WIFI we cannot live without so having it here is great. Dog friendly is such a bonus. The whole population seem to love dogs. The apartment could not be bettered, everything to hand, clean and comfortable. We have been so lucky with the weather and had some fabulous walks – coastal, woodland, open fields, just acres of inspiring scenery then coming home to be fed at watered at the Steam Packet. A really excellent restorative week. Thank you.”

September 2018.

“We usually visit the Isle at least once a year with the dogs. It’s difficult to find accommodation that is pet friendly and we left things a little late! Thankfully we found Ninian’s Landing and we love the place! We enjoyed the bank holiday and the first class facilities at the apartment were the icing on the cake. We will definitely give the apartment another visit.”

August 2018.

“We had a really nice time, we were looking for a quiet seaside break and this turned out to be perfect. Lovely apartment, very clean and tidy. You can really tell that the owners thought of everything. Thanks for a lovely place to stay.”

August 2018.

“Had a great time, accommodation very good, clean and well equipped. We loved that everyone was dog friendly. Pepper now needs a diet due to all the dog treats she had. Lovely walks and really liked the gardens especially Glenwhan (beautiful and dog friendly).”

June 2018.

“What a fabulous few days! Perfect accommodation, view, weather, walks and local pub. A useful guide from the post office. Thank you Alison for a wonderful stay and loved the treats and personal touches. Look forward to a return visit.”

May 2018.

“Great weather enabled lots of unhurried walking and exploring. Best bits – bus from Isle of Whithorn to Garlieston and walk back along the coast – beautiful bays and bluebell woods along the way. Monreith bay and the Maxwell otter memorial, very beautiful. Whithorn town trail, interesting visitor centre and priory. Wigtown – martyrs trail, old harbour and bird hide, lovers walk and windy hill. Beltie Books and coffee shop had great cakes/scones and tea and a lovely garden in which to enjoy it. Walking along the coast from the apartment in both directions was spectacular – coastal flowers stunning, seals playing on route to Burrow Head. Stonechats, oyster catchers and a fox were spotted on this stretch of coast. Sitting in the evening looking over the harbour and various bays around the headland, just lovely. Town walk around Newton Stewart – very interesting.”

May 2018.

“Thanks Alison for an amazing flat, we loved the treats on arrival and the views are breath-taking. The flat is very comfortable and clean with so much thought put into make our stay delightful. Needless to say we loved eating and drinking at the Steam Packet in the evening. An absolute gem of a flat.”

January 2018.

“My wife and I have worked flat out together for the past year and we knew we needed to get away for a few days to recharge or batteries and boy did this place deliver. From the moment we pulled into the car park, entered the building and saw all the nautical artefacts we loved the place and opening the door to Number 7 only enriched our experience. Finding the lovely and thoughtful welcome tray and also the mini Christmas tree and crackers made us feel so welcome. Then seeing the view we would enjoy for the next 9 days confirmed to us how lucky we were to find Number 7 online. The end of our stay has arrived and we will truly miss the peace and tranquillity of the flat, Isle of Whithorn, the people, the local celebrity ‘Wee McAsh’ that we have met. Alison and Dave have a lovely holiday flat with some lovely touches that prove old fashioned customer care is still alive and well.”

Christmas and New Year 2017.

“Really enjoyed our stay. Lovely apartment, fantastic view. Thanks for the welcome pack. Loved the chocolates and biscuits. Would recommend a drive to see the red kites being fed – feeding 2pm every day. A fantastic experience. Eddie (the dog) enjoyed the walks and being allowed into the Steam Packet every evening. Thanks again.”

October 2017.

“We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay – you have a beautiful apartment. Thank you for all the little things to go the extra mile, we really appreciated it. We were visiting for a friend’s wedding and it was the perfect base for us. With all the wedding prep we didn’t get to explore as much as we’d like but that’s just an excuse to come back in the future.”

August 2017.

“Lovely apartment with stunning views. Loved the welcome pack for us and the dog! Will definitely be recommending this place to friends. We would recommend a day in Garlieston walking along the coast and tea at the Harbour Inn. We also loved the Craft Hotel in Wigtown for a dog friendly place for tea. However, we did spend most of our nights in the Steampacket next door. Thanks Alison we had a great time.”

August 2017.

“We were lucky enough to come across 7 Ninian’s Landing via Twitter and it has turned out to be a lovely, relaxing winter break away. Alison and Dave, the owners have a really well presented apartment that is cosy and very welcoming. From when we arrived and received the thoughtful welcome basket to bathrobes, fluffy towels, toiletries and more, they definitely have the customer number 1 in their minds. You don’t often get accommodation of this quality that is dog friendly but you get it here, 100%! Our Maisie felt very much at home. We hope to stay again in 2017. Try the Steampacket for food – excellent.”
